Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (Jan.25-26, 2009)

Vancouver is one of my favourite cities to do business in.  Even if you’re in town on business and you only have a couple of hours you can actually have an enjoying leisurely experience.  There is so much to do here from skiing to fishing.

The focus of my trip is indeed business and after flying across Canada I’m determined to get as much as I can from the trip.  As soon as I arrive I check in, unpack and head over to the conference centre to get the latest information and plan out my approach for the conferenc.  I’ve come stacked with business cards and company materials as I know what to expect.  I’ve never been to a conference where I don’t get all kinds of requests for company information and in many cases these have led to some serious discussions for joint ventures and other forms of partnerships.

The CEO of the company joins me the next day.  By the time he arrives I’ve already lined up a number of meetings and two media interviews.  The conference has already paid off and two of the meetings have been targetted for serious potential.

It feels to me like investor and industry expectations have already improved since the fall liquidy crisis.  Most resource shares have already begun to bounce back with many doubling in price since early December.

I’m feeling good about the results and now I have to prepare for the next conference scheduled for tomorrow.
